Regional Concrete Suppliers: Our Business Units

Behind every project is a network of established regional brands, each with deep roots in the communities we serve and the technical capability to deliver at scale. Each business unit brings specialized knowledge of its local market, its customers, and the specific demands of the construction and infrastructure work happening in its region. What unites us is a shared foundation: the standards, values, and generational thinking of Votorantim Cimentos, expressed through Our VC Way principles.

Canada Building Materials has worked in Ontario long enough to be considered part of the landscape, supplying EkoCrete, a lower-carbon concrete, alongside their standard ready mix and admixtures. CBM’s materials appear in the Gordie Howe International Bridge and Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. CBM’s reliability comes paired with sustainability commitments and data-driven accountability.

Superior Materials builds for Southeastern Michigan, with a product line suited to demanding pours: high-performance concrete, self-consolidating concrete, lightweight concrete, and mixes engineered for shifting regional weather. Superior Materials supplied materials to major projects including the Gordie Howe International Bridge, Hudson’s Detroit, and the Detroit Riverfront. Behind this work are decades-long employees who also show up as community volunteers.

Prairie Materials serves Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, anchored by Prairie+, a sustainability-focused ready mix concrete. The Prairie Materials team has worked on the St. Regis Chicago, One Chicago Square, and Millennium Park, some of the most visible pours in the region. Their partnership with Concrete.ai, one of the first in the ready-mix industry to apply AI-powered mix optimization, puts Prairie Materials ahead of a major market shift.

United Materials serves Western New York, producing ready mix concrete, supplementary cementitious materials, flowable fill, and barrier blocks for projects across the region. Their local crew worked on the Peace Bridge and Riverworks Ferris Wheel, tasks that only make sense when a team already knows the ground it is standing on. This familiarity, paired with dependable service, is what local contractors have come to expect from United Materials.
